Cheese Culture – A Major Part of the Economy

Since 2005 we have been offering Certified Cheese Expert training at VILLA BLANKA. The aim is to give students all the knowledge and proficiencies they need to be certified to work in supporting the field of “Advising and Selling Cheese”. The careful handling and correct presentation of cheese, and cheese culture as a big part of the Austrian economy, are also key topics covered by this certificate course. The course ends with a three-part certificate examination (with a written component, a sensory component and a practical test). The certificate course completes the students’ “cheese competence” with an excursion to a cheese factory. The teachers are all additionally qualified as a “Cheese Sommelier in Schools”. Our teachers have specialist expertise as certified sommeliers and so they can offer great practical relevance in this specific field of training
