TRAINING AS TOURISM BUSINESSWOMAN / BUSINESSMAN
Replaces apprenticeship of various professions in the field of guest service (according to the job profile of Restaurantfachmann /frau), food and beverages operations (according to the job profile of Koch/Köchin) and in the field of administration and customer service (according to the job profile of Hotel- und Gastgewerbeassistent/in, Bürokaufmann/frau, Industriekaufmann/frau, Großhandelskaufmann/frau). Successful graduation of the Secondary Vocational College for Tourism, Hotel and Catering includes the professional qualification to run a restaurant. After two years of relevant professional experience qualification to start a travel agency without exam.
PRACTICAL TRAINING DURING SUMMER BREAK
After the first and the second class a practical training of eight weeks in the hotel and restaurant industry is compulsory. After the third class a practical training of eight weeks in the hotel and restaurant industry, spa or health resort, a tourism board or a travel agency is compulsory. Higher classes are recommended to do their practical trainings abroad to improve their foreign language skills.
